While small, Otabisha has a certain presence, and is the symbol of Chayamachi

Tsunashiki Tenjin Shrine Otabisha
12-5 Chayamachi , Kita-ku, Osaka
Always open to visitors

This shrine seems like it could get lost in the crowds around the Chayamachi Exit of Hankyu Umeda Station and its many shops and eateries. It was built as the summer Togyo Festival resting place of the deity of Tsunashiki Tenjin Shrine, which was constructed in Kamiyamacho in 843. Its deity is Sugawara no Michizane, and the grounds of the shrine are also home to the god of matchmaking (Tamahime Inari Shrine). After climbing the stairs to the shrine, you can take in the view of Umeda’s Chayamachi from up on high.
