Starting point of the pilgrimage to Mount Myoken

Site of Old Haginobashi Bridge
1-11 Nakatsu , Kita-ku, Osaka

This is the site of a bridge that once led to the entrance of Tokoin Temple, which has been relocated to Toyonaka. Known for the beautiful bush clover (called “hagi” in Japanese) growing on the grounds, the temple was also called Hagi no Tera, and the area was thronged with worshipers. This spot is also the starting point of the route on the Old Nosé Highway leading to Mount Myoken, and served to transport goods to Osaka such as chestnuts, rice, sake, charcoal, and copper from Ikeda, Nosé, and Tamba.
