A Literary Monument to Takitaro Minakami
3-1 Nakanoshima , Kita-ku, Osaka

Born in Tokyo, novelist Takitaro Minakami (1887 – 1940) continued writing while working as a businessman, part of which was spent at an insurance company in Osaka. The monument is engraved with a depiction of a scene from his famous novel An Inn in Osaka based on his time in the city, where the sound of a riverboat oar squeaks and passes by under a lonely autumn night sky filled with stars.
