This jizo statue is located right next to the Kinokuniya Bookstore Umeda Main Store. It was unearthed from a nearby field in 1891 and moved to this location when Hankyu Sanban Gai was completed. Most jizo statues face south, but this is one of about 400 north-facing Jizo throughout Japan known for granting wishes. Look for the strings of red lanterns to find this spot.
