Built in 1920 as the first obstetrics and gynecology hospital in the city of Osaka, this clinic was located on the north side of Johoji Temple. Other than food costs, patient care was essentially free of charge as part of its social welfare policy. The cries of newborns could even be heard echoing across the temple grounds. The hospital was moved to Ogimachi in 1933 where the previous chief priest of Johoji Temple was born.
