Long ago, this spot was home to a shrine equal to Nikko Toshogu

Kawasaki Toshogu Shrine was built after Toyotomi’s camp was taken over during the Siege of Osaka. It is said that Toshogu of the Tokugawa clan was built to eliminate the faith in Toyotomi Hideyoshi as a deity rooted in the culture of Osaka. The shrine was later abandoned when faith in Toyotomi was rekindled after the Meiji restoration.
