A bridge known for its noble lion statues

Naniwabashi – The Lion Bridge
Nakanoshima 1 – Kitahama 1, Chuo-ku , Kita-ku, Osaka

Statues of lions watch over both the north and south sides of this famous bridge, which was one of the official bridges of the shogunate government and rebuilt in 1915. It is decorated with beautiful designs based on the city crest motif, marks in a water channel, and offers a beautiful approach to Nakanoshima Park.

These lions are said to have been modeled on the lions from Tennoji Zoo, which opened in the same year as the bridge! "A", "Un"
