This museum opened on February 2, 2022 based on the concept of modern and contemporary art from Osaka and the rest of the world. It houses a varied collection including modern Western art, Japanese paintings, contemporary art, prints, photos, sculptures, and design. It is the culmination of a large project that took nearly forty years to come to fruition, starting with several pieces from Yuzo Saeki.
