Tenjinbashi, Naniwabashi, and Temmabashi are known as the Three Famous Bridges of Naniwa. Built around 1594, this historic bridge is named “Tenjin” because it is managed by Osaka Temmangu Shrine, which is known as “Temma no Tenjin” by the people of Osaka. Long ago, stalls lined the bridge on summer nights, and it was a spot for locals to relax and enjoy the cool night air. The current bridge, which was rebuilt in 1934, features charming double arches that span the Okawa and Tosaborigawa rivers.
